Brammo Enertia rentals
« on: August 29, 2011, 05:12:36 PM »
The "News, Clues & Rumors" section of the September issue of the San Francisco monthly motorcycle newspaper, CityBike contains a report about the city motorcycle rental company, Dubbleju, (Dubbleju.com) that is now renting Brammo Enertias for $99 a day. The bikes are apparently being supplied by Brammo's local dealer, Scuderia West. The article says that it is a great way for someone to check out what it is like to ride an electric motorcycle.

There are probably few places better than San Francisco to ride one - as long as you watch out for crazy pedestrians, the homeless, bicyclists, buses, trolley cars, cable cars, trolley and cable car tracks, taxis, protest marches and politicians with their hands in everyone's back pockets.
current bikes: 2018 16.6 kWh Zero S, 2011 Royal Enfield Bullet 500 Classic, 2009 BMW F650GS, 2007 BMW R1200R, 2005 Triumph T-100 Bonneville, 2002 Yamaha FZ1 and a 1978 Honda Kick 'N Go Senior.

So very cool.  My family was in S.F. last February and I saw bicycle rentals, electric bicycle rentals, and some three wheeled (but gas powered) rentals.  I said to my wife, "You know what would be a great idea to have for rent in San Francisco?"  She said, "Let me guess.  I bet you're going to say Brammo Enertias."

I love my wife. :-*  She knows me so well.

Shouldn't that be Dubbelju, (http://www.dubbelju.com/) ?

I stand corrected. I missed the "l" as I was attempting to type the company's name. I blame the spell checker.   ::) My apologies to Dubbelju.

Can't wait to see another Enertia in the wild, even if it's just a rental.

That's a pretty good idea, though a tad pricey! I mean, you could rent a sports car for that much...
If they can rent them out for as much as a regular car plus insurance, It could get popular.
It's a great way to get around town for sure and SF is one of the best markets to get it going. All year ride-ability in the city. Lane splitting is legal too ...

I figure that you can rent just about anything in San Francisco for $99 a day. I see people on these open-air, ground-hugging, three-wheel 50cc two-stroke powered, buzzing and smoking things touring around town. They can't even get up a modest hill while carrying a full load of two people. I'll bet they rent for more than $99 so that you can pollute the City and impede traffic for a day. I would much prefer to ride around town on an electric motorcycle - while I looked for a place to park.   ::)
