Just went to my local Saturn store and in the entrance was a
Renault Twizy and it was only 7000Euro!
I didn't know this existed and to be honest it wouldn't have got my attention but the discussion about the economics of evs got me interested.....I initially wanted a Ducati/Triumph in electric but have had to lower my expectations which is fine because electric bikes still make sense and the Empulse also looks good. However, I now realise that unlike with gas guzzlers, with EVs if you can manage with less and less expensive they will pay for themselves quicker and therefore make sense quicker. If I buy one of these Twizzle ugly things, my time to payoff is roughly halved. There is a battery lease deal that I have to look into but I could get away with one of these on a commute although they are slow and I'd have to charge at both 'ends'. 3.5 years to payoff....
On the plus side there are two seats so no problem taking the Mrs/dog/shopping!
