Oregon Governor visits Brammo
« on: June 21, 2012, 08:57:21 AM »
From this article: http://www.ashlandchamber.com/News.asp?NewsID=399

Craig Bramscher, CEO, explains to Oregon Governor John Kitzhaber that the last time a governor visited the manufacturer of electric motorcycles, he brought a check for $100,000.

Brian Wismann, Product Development Director, explains why he chose the rake angle when designing the Brammo Empulse to a mystified Governor Kitzhaber, while CEO Bramscher looks on, still not believing that the Governor failed to bring a frickin' check.

Wismann demonstrates the ... WTF is that thing that looks like a miniature dynamite vest strapped to the side of the Empulse???

Umm, while that mustache, the belt buckle, and the boots are all awesome, did anyone notice the Empulse that appears to be decked out with carbon fiber?

I was wondering about that.  That seems to be more carbon fiber than even the Empulse R was spec'd to have.  Maybe it's an earlier prototype?

I think they were going to give that carbon fiber Empulse R to the governor in return for his $100K check. Not check, no bike. So Brian just rode it off into the sunset.  ;D

I think the device on the side of the "tank" is the optional, high performance, NiCad battery pack.  Sort of like the NO2 tank that you see on Harleys to make them go faster when they hit their top speed of 80 mph.   :o

That looks to be the Black version. Weren't they coming in Red Black or White??

The R is supposed to have tons of carbon...front and rear fenders, chain guard, front light housing, rear light housing and top of the "tank" area...perhaps the black just gets a bit more? covering the tank vs just the top...

as for "bomb"...I'm going Alien technology...but then I have been through Roswell a few too many times...

My guess is you're looking at a special customer Empulse. Maybe Brian Wismann or Alan Wilzig?

From http://www.brammo.com/empulse/

The Empulse R has carbon fiber headlight shroud, front and rear fenders, top panel (this is the panel immediately ahead of the colored panel) and rear light housing.

He should be asking the Governor why Oregon has no incentives for EV motorcycles.

By the way the governor dresses, they put all their incentives on horses (and probably horse food).

The device on the side of the bike is a security measure. Take it outside the parking lot and...boom!
