This new electric motorcycle prototype is said to have a lithium battery with an ultacapacitor hybrid power train. I bet they are looking for investors.  ;)

Thank for posting this article.  I was fortunate enough to be able to see the concept Nawa Racer at the 2020 CES, as well as meeting Pascal Boulanger, the founder and CTO/COO of Nawa Technologies.  The concept bike was non-functional but was part of a tech demo that demonstrated the benefits of adding an ultracapacitor to a lithium battery.  It was great to be able to sit on the concept bike and experience the demo while chatting with the founder of the company.  It'll be great to see how the prototype bike performs.

Here's a link to a video about the carbon battery that Nawa is developing:

I think that there is definite potential for this technology.

As a side note, I own a cordless screwdriver that uses a capacitor rather than a battery for power.  It charges in 90 seconds and works just as well today as it did 10 years ago.

Looks promising, so they should have an actual demo bike soon!

One issue that I noticed is that the "ultracapacitor" only has an energy capacity of 0.1 KWH. That won't get you very far.  ;)  But I guess it is great for a few seconds of acceleration, sort of like an electrical nitrous injection system.   ;D

Supposedly it works in the other direction as well.  It is more efficient at harvesting energy when using regen.

Another article about nawaracer.  Looks to be more efficient than other emotos.  Rim motor sounds interesting it's got a decent amount of power.
