Brammo has $10 million in pre-orders sales for the new
model. The Empulse comes in three ranges — 60 to 80 miles
per charge — and three prices, from $9,995 to $13,995. The
original model, Enertia, sells for $7,995 while the extendedrange
Enertia Plus, sells for $8,995.

The three ranges - 60 to 80 miles per charge must be a typo.  The $13,995 model is supposed to get 100 miles per charge.

They are being manufactured in Hungary this spring?
That's a piece of news I haven't heard from Brammo yet.
If they are manufactured this spring, shouldn't the preorderers have received an email by now?

If there are Empules bikes being made in Hungary this spring, well those will be for the Euro market...

USA bikes will be made here in the States. Or Mexico? But probably the States.

Asia bikes will be made? China, Taiwan, ?. Asia made bikes will also be the ones likely to hit down-under and in New Zealand.

just my guesses...but Brammo won't be shipping bikes from Hungary to the States. Nor from Asia to the states. They will likely have 3 or 4 locations that make bikes and that they ship locally...or semi locally.

US (Oregon?), Europe (Hungary), Asia and Indonesia and Australia/New Zealand (Taiwan or similar)...I imagine that they will also do South America in the Future...so add Brazil or similar.  Africa is another market...but probably much much later...

With 10 million in pre-orders one would think that they are nearing the 1k pre-order mark. Very exciting. If its true that they are almost to production (even if were talking in Hungary alone) that's even more exciting. Perhaps they are rolling out Empulses to be used for demos. Who knows, its great to hear fresh news... even if it is not 100% accurate, ill take it!

Or only halfway there, for Empulses and Enertia+'s combined. And last I heard from Brammo was that their delivery dates were pushed out because they don't have the manufacturing facilities and supply chain ready yet.
I don't believe they're starting production this spring.

If they want to cash those $10M, they better start building some bikes before people start changing their minds.  :-\

I would have to take those preorder numbers with a grain if salt  Since
preorders don't cost anything, there is very little stopping someone
from inflating the preorder count. I actually messed up and ordered
twice (and then asked brammo to remove the second preorder).

We will see what the real interest is once customers will have to
pony up some cash.

I have to agree with FreepZ, a good portion of those orders may dissolve once its comes time to pay up. But i believe the real orders will pour in once these things hit the dealership floors as demos. Despite Brammo's marketing efforts, most people dont even know that the Enertia exists (let alone the Empulse), simply because they are not available to test ride anywhere outside of the west coast. These are simply not "impulse buyable"... which is how most of the riders I know have purchased their motorcycles.

I would have to say that Brommos #1 priority at this point should be to build out the dealer network and get some demos out there on showroom floors. Anyone I have ever talked to about the Empulse has never heard of it (or Brammo), but they always love the design. The first question is usually, where can I go check one out?

I'm sure Brammo is aware that not everyone who preordered will buy an Empulse.  And I'm sure they have some projection on what percentage will actually buy.  Nissan took 20k preorders for the Leaf and it will be interesting to see how many actually buy.  I preordered a Leaf and an Empulse but I'm not going to buy both.  I'm waiting to hear some news from Empulse before I make a decision though.

Yes...but Brammo said they would pick a name and give one away when they reach 1000 pre-orders, not sales...

so the good news is somebody will at least get picked as the winner...(the actual bike likely won't be delivered any time soon...but a name of that winner could be very soon...which would be cool...and good advertizing).

I have a pre order in for a Plus and an Empulse...but I will only be getting one of them.

Depends on which comes first (likely the Plus).

I hear the LEAF pre-order to actual sale is about 40%. Not to worry as all the "orphaned" LEAFs are selling quite easily. I have an order for a LEAF, but they just took too long... Just bought my Fiat 500, so will orphan the LEAF and wait for either the Fiat 500 EV or Volvo C30 EV in 2013...

Has anybody been able to confirm or deny that the Empulse is being produced in Hungary this spring? Which is basically right now?

I have only read rumors that future Brammo motorcycles for the European market will be produced at Flextronic's manufacturing plant in Sarvar, Hungary. The rumor is from the November 2010 time frame.

I suspect that production has been delayed.
