Going good at #SV_REFUEL for the #Brammo Empulse RR! A 1:47 in traffic for the first session! Mission came out to play too!

#missionmotors putting the hammer down at #SV_REFUEL! Our own Steve Atlas has his work cut out for him in the official time trial...

@brammofan Heart break as a tech glitch prevented us from posting a time! Congrats to Mission for laying down a 1:43!

Great last practice at #SV_REFUEL with the #BRAMMO Empulse RR. Got work to do to challenge Mission at next months #TTXGP!

good to see Mission racing...maybe Brian shouldn't have ragged on them so hard :)  Nah, Mission being called out for being pretty but stationary is all fine as it was true.

That said, doing well at a time trial is not the same as winning a race, so we will see how things go next month at Seca...

Hopefully the Empulse glitch gets sorted and they can increase the top end a bit to get those lap times down around Missions times. It would be great to see a nice close race between Mission and Brammo...and a few others.

Still the great thing about Brammo is that their racing bike is based on a production model vs a one off that will never see production.

And I would still love to see the Enertia TTR competing in the 75 class, but I understand resources are limited.

Actaully I would love to see the Enertia TTR in my garage...I mean if Brammo isn't using it I could give it a good home :)

Nice to see Mission on the track and doing well. People were starting to question whether the bike was for show but I guess we have the answer now.

Do you have a larger picture, oob?

Hell For Leather reports the Mission R did a best lap of 1:43.7 around Laguna Seca, beating the previous year's record of 1:44.4 by the 2010 MotoCzysz E1PC. It'll be a pretty good race when the Empulse RR, 2011 E1PC and Mission R get on a track at the same time.

For comparison, a 1:43 laptime is competitive with a fast street car or a competently (but not professionally) driven street bike - say 750-1000cc. A race replica bike or supercar will be somewhat faster, 1:3x. MotoGP / Superbike times are in the 1:2x range.

Here is an on-board video of the Mission R taking a lap of Laguna. I got a kick out of the title of the article: "Mission R: looks good, goes well, sounds terrible". I have to agree. My ears are still ringing after watching the video. But the bike sure looks fast. See it here:

Here's some footage from one of the electric bicycles.  You can watch the whole video, but I start it right before Mission and Brammo go zooming past.
