Brammo in Pop Sci - again
« on: November 14, 2011, 10:58:12 AM »
Brammo has been mentioned in the "Best of What's New" on page 39 of the December issue of Popular Science magazine. It features the Brammo Empulse, which is described as "The Fastest Consumer Electric Motorcycle". Here is what they have to say: "With a 100mph top speed and 100 miles of driving range, the Brammo Empulse 10.0 is the fastest and farthest-driving consumer electric motorcycle ever made. The speed comes from the 57-horsepower motor; the range comes from the hefty 10-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery. The Empulse 10.0 recharges in 10 hours from a 110-volt household outlet. Brammo also sells two less-expensive variations of this bike - the 6.0 and the 8.0, which come with smaller battery packs, $14,000"

No mention of a 6-speed transmission though.

The info is out of date, and not even true, since the Empulse is not commercially available at this time (nor will it be in December, unless they know something that we don't).

I suspect that the magazine is just recycling some old news for their December "100 Best Innovations" issue. Most likely they didn't even bother to check their facts on every item. Still...some press is better than no press, even if it isn't up to date and not quite right.   ???
