Brammo + WalMart = Batteries?
« on: February 08, 2012, 12:04:28 PM »
A WalMart store is closing in Talent, Oregon (just down I-5 from Ashland) and several organizations are interested in moving into the building.  Check out the local news video, featuring Craig Bramscher (and some interior shots of the Brammo HQ) talking about it:

Interesting....15 sec mark, what is the bike with the white fairing? 1:31 second mark, what is the Red and Silver bike?

No headlight on the white fairing, so it must be a race bike. White fairing is the same shape as the RR fairing. Presumably the white is the raw 3d printed fairings prior to paint. Could be a test bike for the RR or could perhaps be a TTX.

Hard to say about the red bike, the video is so terrible.

Seriously. Smartphones can capture 1080p video. Youtube will be happy to store and stream the 1080p video. There's no reason why a professional outfit like a TV station should stream postage-stamp sized video anymore.

Not sure about that white fairing bike... kind of looks like it has a Ducati-branded fender on the front, or maybe that's Dunlop? And the red and silver bike looks like someone's ICE bike... maybe a Yamaha  R1?

That's definitely a Dunlop logo on the all white bike.  The red/white one looks like it might say "CBR" on the side?

There's no reason why a professional outfit like a TV station should stream postage-stamp sized video anymore.

The quality isn't that great, but you can click the full-screen button and at least see the poor quality video across your whole screen.

I think they broadcast in poor quality to keep their internet hosting bills lower.  It costs them money for you to watch their video.

The best part of the story for me was the line, "A WalMart store is closing."

Except for the part that would mean people losing their jobs, but you have to take into account how many people lost their jobs because of the Walmart opening.

OK, sorry for the derailment and hijacking of the discussion for my own political agenda. ;D

Now back to our regularly scheduled program.
