Anybody take their Brammo body apart?
« on: March 16, 2012, 03:13:45 PM »

I assume the main "tank" body and the mesh body are separate pieces?

An easy way to get different colors in the "boomerang" area is to mix and match...

Say black tank, blue mesh....black tank, silver mesh...Silver tank, red mesh...etc etc...

At time of order you could specifiy that you want the "upgrade" and pay a small fee**...this would only work on pre-orders...though dealerships could also order bikes like this...

Gavin

**this fee could be minimal as it doesn't cost any more to Brammo, just a few more seconds in time....It could even be free to the first deposit holders as a thank you for waiting... :)

Been there, done that, and I'm not mechanically inclined at all.  The trick, they say, is getting it back together once you've taken it apart, and yes, I've done that, too.  It's actually quite easy to do.  Save all those little allen-head bolts, though.

The most I ever did was to remove the side panels to paint them. Once the panels are off, you could carefully paint the mesh a different color to one of your suggested choices.

The mesh 'boomerangs' can be separated from the body panels. If you were into that sort of thing.

Cool....so

A) either Brammo can mix and match at build of the bike...

or

B) it will be much easier to paint them after purchase...less taping and worry of paint "bleeding" onto Tank

Of course I'm still hoping for a Gorilla Glass version....

"The ONLY glass tough enough to be made into a motorcycle"....

The ad just writes itself....

I know you like the "visible bike"idea but, if I recall correctly, someone at Brammo tried this and realized that enough dust gets stirred around inside the body panels that it became a bit of a nightmare to try to keep the inside of the clear panels clean.
