Lito Sora Videos
« on: April 18, 2012, 09:19:10 AM »
Saw this on cmgonline.com; the more I look at it I like this bike, it reminds me somewhat of the MT-01 for some reason...

Thanks for posting those videos of the Lito Sora, Craigq. That bike has an interesting chassis design and seems to be hand-built. It it is built and sold to the public, I imagine that it will be very expensive and very low volume.  I also note that the videos focus entirely on the chassis and provide no information about the batteries or motor, which are not even shown. I get the feeling that electric power was chosen more for its flexible packaging ability, rather than for any other reason.  ???

Personally, what I want to see are more mass-produced electric motorcycles - such as........ ;)
current bikes: 2018 16.6 kWh Zero S, 2011 Royal Enfield Bullet 500 Classic, 2009 BMW F650GS, 2007 BMW R1200R, 2005 Triumph T-100 Bonneville, 2002 Yamaha FZ1 and a 1978 Honda Kick 'N Go Senior.

Okay, okay, go Empulse/Enertia+ go! Now imagine if all we had was one or two mass-produced electric motorcycle from one company, how much fun would that be?  :P

"German made motor" and "a liquid-cooled, three-phase brushless AC motor that produces 59 lb-ft of torque throughout its 6,000-rpm rev range" from the other CMG article: http://cmgonline.com/2012/03/technobabble-litos-sora/

Lito has a couple of specs on their site : http://www.litogreenmotion.com/the-sora#/technical-features

The Sora is a bit on the "portly" side of the scale  ;D

It is, it weighs about as much as my ZF9 + your XU combined : )

It's also got more battery capacity than the two of our bikes combined as well .. and a good 30% more than the Empulse R.

Cool bike. Not $40k cool. I'd buy a Lightning if I had that kind of money to spend.

Still, I hope they sell every one they make. There is a small market for very high-end bikes, and its build quality is right for that market. I hope they don't need to sell very many to sustain operations, however.
