BRAMMO Introduces The Empulse - live streaming video powered by Livestream

This is where it is going to happen, folks. (unless you were lucky enough to score an invite and are able to attend)
The placeholder image is kind of cool.  In the bottom right "initializing on 05.08.12 System Ready."

The livestream website says:

w00t! That's perfect timing for me (I do volunteer work until about 9:30 pm EDT on Tuesday). Only 179 hours to go!

Hmmm. Guess you don't read some of the other subforums:

However, I like your headline better, so I'll merge mine into yours. :)
(so to speak).

sorry...mine had both the cooler title and the info that the name of the Empulse R winner would be announced. 1-1000 odds is better than the lottery...but I know I won't win for one major reason...if Brammo pulls a name and sees "GAVIN" that piece of paper is going right back into the bin...the comments being, "There is absolutely NO WAY we can give Gavin the Empulse R." :)   wait, :(

Anyone (who isn't attending) interested in possibly doing a Google + Hangout "watch party" during this event?  I've never tried it before, but I'm willing to give it a shot.

Sure. I've used Google+ hangout a couple of times with friends, it works out okay.

Google+ has an enhanced version of Hangout that's basically meant for doing webcasts, I believe this is what was used for Pres. Obama's Google+ Hangout a little while back.

This would be ideal for Brammo, but I don't know if Google has completely opened this up or not.

People have asked Brammo about using G+, but Brammo's answer has been the "only a limited number of people can participate."  Either they weren't aware of the enhanced version, or there are some reasons, unknown to us, why they chose Livestream.

At least Livestream should be more able to handle the traffic than whatever Tesla used during its launch of the Model X.  That was a disaster.

I was thinking more like having the hangout open on my laptop while watching the livestream on my desktop.  Kind of like youtube's new "start a google + hangout" feature under the "share" menu.

yeah, in my older, geeky days (no snickering allowed) I would have a couple of windows open whenever Apple had a live event...

one to watch, one to chat with my Apple friends around the globe....fun times.

Easy enough to do a live chat and live stream all at once.

I might be interested in G+'ing, but on Tuesday I'll only have access to an oldish laptop and not so fast bandwidth. I don't want to sacrifice any quality of the livestream by trying to stream a G+ hangout at the same time.

I suppose there will be time to experiment since the big reveal will be at 9 pm PST, while the stream starts at 8 pm PST.

(Less than a week to go! Woohoo! :o)
