So, you noticed that my bike has a name, huh? Maybe a better question is "why" does she have a name.
Here is the story of Dorothy:
Some time back I did a blog post about one of the female pioneers of motorcycle riding, Dorothy Robinson.
http://mtaes.wordpress.com/2010/02/17/i-wanna-be-just-like-dot-part-1/ Quite a woman with quite a story. When I bought my Enertia, I decided to do some custom paint. My friend Jason Sarratt at Hellcat Customs in Chandler, Az, recommended we paint the bike pink..the color Mrs Robinson chose to wear because of the sometimes negative opinions towards the black leather wearing Harley riders.
Jason is a master painter which can be seen in this example of his work
http://www.bikerschurch.com/robdale/2010/04/09/my-new-paint/. Jason has something up his sleeve to honor Mrs Robinson as a trailblazer. Rather befitting the bike I have chosen to ride beings I am from the "gas" powered motorcycle crowd. Since I have chosen to take a path less traveled and buy an electric bike, I have taken some teasing and been considered a bit of a trailblazer myself. I couldnt imagine calling her anything else.
So, now you understand the reason behind naming my bike. Its not just a cutsie "girl" thang...
I'll make sure I post pics of her panels being transformed. Dave Murray is going to help me install the new panels when they return home! He sure is a great guy!!
Thanx for noticing that my bike had a name. Now you know why!
