Charging stations are growing in number...slowly....
« on: August 07, 2012, 11:47:28 AM »
So we have two public charging stations in Albuquerque.

Santa Fe just added 2 also.

I like this part:

Payment for charging will be collected along with the parking fee and costs 25 cents per hour or a maximum of $1 for the day.

25 cents an hour or a dollar a day seems about right for charging. Hopefully the parking fee is less than a car for motorcycles??

25 cents an hour is pretty reasonable - looks like Albuquerque is $0.13/kWh in the summer, $0.09-0.11/kWh otherwise. If you charge faster than 2-2.8 kW (say, with the 3.3 kW Empulse) then you're charging cheaper than at home.

For small chargers - Enertia, Zero, etc.. it's a little expensive. But if it means more sockets are available, then I'm all for it..

25 cents per hour is reasonable indeed. I've paid a lot more than that for just the parking, never mind the electricity! (I try to avoid parking in the city, but sometimes I don't have much choice. :()
