I've always wondered how much for a typical medium electric engine - here it is:
$631.32
Nice to know - although I would have estimated for about half the price, didnt know theses were still that expensive.

I wonder how much to pay for a electric engine in the Empulse-category?

The Empulse motor is integrated with the transmission - the two together are probably pretty pricey. (~$2000).

The HPEV AC/20 motor is about 50 hp at 96V. It's offered for sale here for $2500 including a controller. This has been used by some racing teams, but it's pretty heavy (50-60 lbs).
