Atlas in Icon's Limiter catalog and website
« on: August 29, 2012, 02:09:11 PM »
I just got the LIMITER - Icon's catalog.  There is a very cool layout featuring the Empulse RR and Steve Atlas.  The website also has a feature on it:

Some great photos of the Empulse RR here.  And I'm going to break the forum rules a bit and post all the copy because I don't think Icon will mind - if you're going to buy their stuff - you're going to do it, no matter what this prose is:
Quote
Somewhere on a lonely Oregon track, the high-pitched hum of an electric motor slices through the mid-day sun. It’s a disturbing pseudo silence, a minimal noise calculation that can not possibly equal the resultant velocity. 600cc supersport performance derived from 344 volts of Lithium Ion batteries. Electric motorcycles are here – today. And haters are gonna hate. But Steve Atlas – pilot of the ICON /Brammo Empulse RR TTXGP race bike – just shrugs. Speed is speed…

ICON’s involvement with the world of electric motorcycle racing, the TTXGP, came as quite a shock to some. To the casual observer, ICON might be construed as an obnoxious stunt brand with a loud mouth and a penchant for ill-concieved street wheelies. Guilty as charged. But we also have a great passion for emerging technologies, going hella fast in ‘appropriate’ venues, and wearing fancy leather trousers. Therefore when the opportunity came to team up with our fellow Oregonians at Brammo we jumped in with both feet. We recognize the huge potential for battery powered motorcycles, both for race and street use, and are stoked to be part of an electric future.

That's some fun writing there. ;)

Nice pictures. Looks like the Empulse RR got some wind tunnel time - wonder if the Empulse R did as well? Might explain some of the lower highway energy consumption vs the Zero.
