Commercial is kind of lame. +1 cool for the Empulse, so it evens out : )

Think that's the first time I've seen an electric bike used outside of content specifically related to the electric bike (or EV technology in general). A notable commercial indeed!

No kidding. I'd like to think that it was just chosen for its futuristic looks. Maybe someone at the ad agency saw it in GQ. The cynic in me thinks otherwise. A former employer of mine had a full-time employee that did nothing but place our products in TV shows and movies. He was one hard-drinworking guy.

commercials and TV shows are always dunning other motorcycle sounds over motorcycles.  I'll never forget the NCIS episode where they dubbed an I-4 sound over a Ducati. Its sad but true.

The sad thing is that if the creators were really on their game, with the futuristic phone stuff and all, they would have dubbed in an amplified Empulse sound, making it really cool. But they're not.

Too bad: the exposure for Brammo could have been huge.

It's probably a bit too early for that. In about 2 seconds the advertisement has to tell the viewer that a motorcycle has just shown up. A standard motorcycle engine noise is instantly recognizable to most people. If they had used the Empulse sound, Joe everybody might not recognize what that black thing that pulled up was.

The sad truth is that noise is more impressive than silence (to most people), which is way modern space movies (with a few notable exceptions) still have space craft making noise in space. An every more blatant example is any computer in a movie. They are always making bleeping, clicking and whirring sounds that would drive us all insane if we had to endure that in real life.

Hmm.. you may be right... Let's see:

A two-wheel vehicle with a rider astride the machine, holding on to the handlebars with gloved hands, comes screaming into the office with that wonderful Empulse regen sound whining down as it stops. The rider takes off her full face black helmet, shakes out her long air as her leather jacket falls open, revealing her body's shape as the headlight shines at me, and I'm thinkin':

What WAS that? Maybe.

But then again, maybe my brain just might be able to take in what happened, AND be curious as to the sound.

Then again, maybe I'd just be left staring at the actress.
