MY ol' VFR (take a drink) was over 500lbs and recommended tire pressure was 36 front/42 rear.  So probably both are correct (eco and weight).

On the tire pressure point...

I've played around a bit since the Avon's run a bit cold and tried running them at lower pressures to get them to heat up a bit more, but range definitely suffers.

For quicker rides in the hills, I've dropped them to 32F/34R, but I was planning on over 100 miles of riding last weekend (with some charging along the way) and put the tires back up to 38F/42R (42 front just seems too high to me  ;)).

Comparing range, it makes a BIG difference with the lower vs. higher pressures.  I haven't kept a strict log, but it seems like it may vary as much as 10-20% more range with the higher tire pressures when riding at highway speeds.
