Spot the differences!
« on: May 22, 2013, 01:13:03 PM »

A week ago my bike was delivered back from Germany. It was very well taken care of by Marcin, he got rid of all error messages and I received these side bags from Brammo for free to make up for all my troubles. To show off my bike in all its glory, I tried to mimick the promo shot that was made a few years ago, shortly after the Plus was announced. The real thing looks a lot like the promotion prototype, but some things are different. See if you can spot them all!

The bags are pointing different directions  :-\

Looks like you have different LED turn signals.  And there's a slight difference in the Enertia+ logo on the side.

I'm not sure.  Compare the two pictures.  In the stock photo (on the right), the bag tapers toward the front.  Frank's bike - they taper towards the back.  Someone has them on backwards.  Actually, they both look fine to me, so maybe it's just a matter of personal preference.

Interesting composition.

Big difference is one was a promise and the other exists in the real world with lots of happy owners : )

That promo shot has always given me a chuckle because it shows the guy, presumably the Brammo rider, walking with a woman.  Classic "buy this and you'll get the girl" subliminal messaging, advertising 101.  But what happens next, does he call her a cab?  Does she ride way on some dude's Harley?  She's probably not getting on that Enertia . . .

The "guy" is Brian...the girl might be his wife? But I'm not sure.

I've ridden with my wife a few times on the Enertia and Plus. Not a big issue for her, but I had to ride pushed up on the tank.

Easier on the Empulse to ride with the wife.

Looks like you have different LED turn signals.  And there's a slight difference in the Enertia+ logo on the side.

The differences are not night and day, apart from the lighting conditions.

Yes, the bags are switched. I only noticed that when I compared the pictures. But the bottom edge aligns nicely with the chain cover, I think it looks better than on the promo shot. Also, mine are not Brammo branded but there's a Saddlemen logo on them.

The turn signals are different too, I didn't change them and they're not LEDs but I'd like them to be. Maybe I'll just put LED bulbs in there. Don't like to replace something that's not broken though. (I did replace the parking light in the headlight with a small LED bulb, when that one stopped working.)

The logo's on the side are different indeed, and (almost invisible) the rear suspension has no red parts to it.

It may be due to a slightly different standpoint in my picture but it looks like the dash is more upright on my bike.

And obviously, a Dutch license plate is a lot bigger than one from Oregon.

Nice eyes!  You're correct about the dash angle as well... this was updated between the prototype and production.  You did miss the fact that the prototype was still running a sheetmetal headlamp mounting bracket, whereas your bike has a very nice die-cast aluminum piece (with integrated windscreen mount locations).
