That'll be a short drive away for me. Gotta get some tickets..

Is anyone else going to Indy? Does anyone have suggestions regarding which section to get a ticket for?

I've always gotten general admission. The best reserved seats are at the end of the front strait. Last time I went, I just sat on the hill overlooking the end of the back strait. People watching in general admission is almost better than the race, IMO.

Having never been to Indy, are the pits open to the public or do I need to buy a pit pass?
