Sounds like a great battle in Race 1 with Arthur Kowitz just edging out Bill Himmelsbach on the two TTX bikes at the front followed by Virginia Tech in 3rd who must have just edged out new Empulse R owner, Peter Nicolosi, in 4th.  Lap times looked very, very close between the competitors:

Arthur Kowitz (Empulse TTX) best lap: 1:49.290 - 1st Place
Bill Himmelsbach (Empulse TTX) best lap: 1:50.360 - 2nd Place
Peter Nicolosi (Empulse R) best lap: 1:50.608 - 4th Place
Andrew Cowell (Empulse R) best lap: 1:50.105 (crashed out of race)

No lap times for VT as I'd guess their transponder was having problems with electrical interference, which is common. Based on total time, the lap times must've been pretty close though.

I'm looking forward to hearing what happens in Race 2 today.  I just wish there was better coverage.  Instead, I'm having to piece the results together from multiple sources...

Very tight clustering on the Empulse riders; everyone must be riding pretty well.

Sounds like Sunday's Race 2 was not quite as action packed as Race 1.  With Andrew Cowell having crashed out and Pete Nicolosi opting to start a long drive back to South Carolina, the field was thinned out.  Arthur Kowitz won again - but not on his Brammo.  ???

He was "subbing in" for Virginia Tech in order to help them further develop their Bolt 2 race bike for competition.  Awfully nice of him, but the first time this year that a Brammo wasn't on the top step...  >:(

I'm actually quite happy that he extended his assistance to give VT a good weekend at the races...

I wished I could have joined. I love NJMP...one of my favorite tracks, but it's a long drive for me and I had a local track weekend with my wife. It'd be nice if AHRMA would come back to Putnam.

Really looking forward to Barber.

If you're coming out get your lodging setup now. Hotels and camping are filling up fast already.
