Charging while under cover.
« on: August 26, 2014, 08:03:55 PM »
Is there an issue with charging it with the cover on? Is there a risk of overheating? My bike charges on my front stoop and I wouldn't mind keep curious eyes off the bike not to draw too much attention that could put it at risk of thief. Also thinking about sewing black out cloth into the tail light and head light area of the cover so that I don't have people knocking at my door telling me my lights are on.

I bought a Dowco Urban Camo Guardian Cover and charged the bike several times with the cover on it.  I did so because I was doing some "Guerilla Charging".  I had only one issue of overheating one time. That was on an extremely hot South Florida summer day with the Sun beating down on it and that was after I was riding the bike pretty hard. It was perfect when the wife and I was on a trip with the wife's Nissan Leaf and we shared a Chargepoint L1/L2 dual charger over night at a hotel.

Great time to get some black out fabric then and a timer.
