More on Rear Shocks - Flip it the other way around.....!
« on: October 03, 2014, 11:02:48 PM »
Check out the after market Ohlin rear shock ($1899http://brammoforum.com/Smileys/default/sad.gif) on the Brammo gear and accessories page for US bikes (pg.4).  In the photograph the Ohlin is mounted with the adjusting ring nuts end positioned toward the the rear of the bike instead of like the Sachs (inaccessable) and mounted with the ring nuts toward the front of the bike.  If Brammo flipped the Sachs around like the Ohlin in the photograph, that would fix the access problem getting to the adjusting rings.  Wonder if other than having to reposition the Sachs resevoir the shock would still work flipped the other end around?

In response to my own question and to send this post to the round file………..  Having taken a closer look at the Sachs reversal possibility, whereas the shock would probably be mechanically functional flipped around, – it is almost horizontal in it’s present mounting configuration anyway, the reservoir would also have to be mounted on the swing arm in static proximity to  the shock head reservoir hose banjo fitting, - not impossible.  Although access to the threaded ring adjustors would then probably allow for use of a shock spanner to turn the adjustors there would still be marginal structural interference by the passenger foot rest support tube, - but at minimum, at least better access than present configuration.  It was a thought.  Maybe in a future rendition of the Empulse R ?
