I just heard this from Brammo. Be on the lookout. Can't imagine what someone plans to do with this one of a kind racebike, other than take it for a joyride.

My money you will find a squid laying next to this thing on the road by the end of the day. I doubt the person who stole it will be able to handle this beast.

What "squid" would even know this bike exists?

This kicks over the "bizarre" meter past "Tilt".

Perhaps a disgruntled ex-employee?

Usual 3 motives: fence / chop, joyride, revenge.

An unusually targeted attack for a bike that probably has very little immediate fencing / chop value .. maybe around $10k on the black market, but the parts are so unique that they would be difficult to move. Potentially much higher value for a collector that would be willing to hold it for a long time.

Joyride is possible. Hopefully they can retrieve the bike without too much damage if it is abandoned.

Revenge / grudge very possible.

Brammo has those?   8)

Any company that has terminated staff will have disgruntled ex-employees. Brammo may have more recently terminated employees than most, however.

Ah, I dearly wish I shared your clear view of human character and motivation...  :D

Thank you Ted, for the link about employee's experience working at Brammo. Disheartening.

In the comments, Roland Stone, in a conjecture about the thief's motive, writes, "Maybe an Empulse owner finally realizing he’s never likely to realize any significant product support from Polaris."

I'm wondering if anyone on this forum has any data to support the claim of Polaris's not delivering any support. Upon what is this based?

Just for perspective, I've looked at the Zero reviews: http://www.glassdoor.com/Reviews/Zero-Motorcycles-Reviews-E752528.htm

...and Tesla:

...and Mission:

I've got an account there, not sure what or how much you can see without registering with them.

This may be deleted before anyone reads it...

As one of the aforementioned "disgruntled former employees", I find it very difficult to imagine a former employee stealing this machine. The question that should be asked is why a $1000 reward for such a "historically significant motorcycle"?

And yes, if spreading truth, raising your hand to be counted and unveiling injustice makes someone a disgruntled employee... So be it.

Many good, hard-working men and women worked tirelessly to bring uncompromising perfection to the machines you all have spent your hard earned dollars on. I personally wouldn't change a thing about my time at Brammo. Enjoy your machines, all.

Cheers,

...well, if they delete yours, they gotta delete this too.  ;)

I'm not sure why you feel anyone would delete your comment, "RealTalk", but I'm not clear on what you're suggesting with your "spreading truth, raising your hand to be counted and unveiling injustice makes someone a disgruntled employee... So be it." comment.  Care to clarify?

Glad to hear you still have positive feelings about your time with the company.

Can you talk more about your time at Brammo, maybe in a separate thread? Genuinely curious to get an insider perspective.

I appreciate your hard work and I enjoy my Enertia every time I ride it. Thanks for joining the forum.  I hope you'll stick around and answer some of the questions people have asked.

And no, your comment will not be deleted. No one from Brammo has ever suggested I delete anything from this forum.  This is MY forum, and I don't take marching orders from anyone. Um...except, sometimes, my wife.

P.S. - The Empulse RR has been found. Press release from the Talent PD to come.

Great news on the the RR recovery!

Looks like Roland stone based his Polaris abandonment thesis on his "intuitive notion", according to his reply on the other forum. Sigh of relief.
