Install Carbon Kit Package
« on: August 29, 2015, 12:40:25 AM »
I've been looking for instructions on how to install the carbon kit on my Empulse 2014. I can't find this info, is there a manual or a post anyone can point me to?

in the manual toward the back there are instructions on how to remove the body panels. I think the manual is in a pdf as I have it on my computer so it should be readily available

How much did you pay for the kit? Where did you buy them?

I have an acquaintance that may be purchasing a used 2014 R at auction. It has a carbon pkg installed. He doesn't care for it so he's willing to swap it out with my base plastic at no charge. Straight swap!

I know, I know, I'm super lucky. I really hope he's able to get the bike. What a nice guy! :)

Just curious.  What is the appeal of carbon fiber panels?  Looks?  Safety?

Looks mostly. Technically they are a little lighter which means slightly better range (I'm talking next to nothing). Carbon really isn't any safer. It is only strong in 1 direction so if something hits on another direction the design it just the strength of resin which usually means in cracks into little pieces.

OK, thanks.  I mean, the E-Boz ICON Empulse R has it, and I'm absolutely loving it for the bright orange-and-blue color scheme, but the carbon fiber is wasted on me. :)
