New Zero Charge Tank 6x as fast!

(1/2) > >>

HadesOmega:
Saw on Zero's facebook page they have a new charge tank that charged 6x as fast.  It's rated at 6kw/h also, that's pretty amazing.  Says you can charge even faster if you plug into a 110V outlet at the same time!  It adds $2300 to the pricetag though.

Yes, i think this makes use of the full 6.6kW capacity of the L2 chargers. Unlike the Empulse which only uses 3.3kW. I wonder if that charger can be retrofitted into the empulse and that would be great! :)

I still havent heard back from the ppl on Zero forum on how some of the users used the supercharger with the Empulse. If multiple ppl here are interested then it maybe worth trying it out.

The new charge tank can't even be retrofitted on to 2017 and previous model Zeros.  Only the 3.3 kW chargers are compatible with some previous models. The new "charge tank" must be installed on 2018 models at the factory, so I am pretty sure that they will not sell it to the public as an accessory.

shayan:
Right. Any idea who they're getting the chargers from?

Its a bummer that the chargers wont work on the previous models. Did they change the battery chemistry or is it some other reason that they do not want to support it to the previous models?

Or is it a matter of the bike not able to physically support the charger?

Not a clue and I doubt that information will be easily extracted from Zero.  ;)
