Arcimoto SRK

(1/1)

HadesOmega:
I remember seeing a group doing a demo ride on these a while back.  It looks like they're starting to mass produce them now.  It'll be available in the fall of this year.  Its basically a front wheel drive electrically powered trike.  Its like a golfcart on crack.  Supposedly can get 70 miles to a charge or 130 miles depending on the battery option.  It kinda reminds me of the Polaris Slingshot cept this one is more like a motorcycle, it has controls similar to a motorcycle.

$12,000 EV that you can sit in and has a full windscreen not too shabby.  I bet you can get a tax rebate on it from California on it also further lowering the price.  It has a top speed of 80MPH so it can hit the the freeway and has enough power to pass I guess in the bay area anyway.  Has heated seats and a heater and defroster too.  It looks like it supports level 1 and level 2 charging also, so you can charge it at charging stations.  They are planning on having an add on shell upgrade also.

Some specs:
Acceleration: 0-60 in 7.5 s
Top Speed: 80 mph
Turning Circle: 26 feet
Range (12 kWh pack): 70 mi
Range (20 kWh pack): 130 mi
Power Plant (kW): Dual 25 kW
Power Plant (HP): 67 HP

Cute. But not much of a "crumple zone" for Bay Area freeway commutes.  :o
