Looking good. Still not going to hold my breath, but it's looking much closer to a real bike.

I have read that is the production model. They are supposed to start selling it next year.  It will be interesting to see how well it is received by both H-D dealer and the "faithful".  ;)

Not a particularly coherent design to my eyes. Looks cobbled together. And what's up with that big hole in the rear fender above the plate holder? Specs vs. price will be important to draw anybody away from Zero.
-------------------------------------

For a coherent design check this out, at the bottom of the same page:

Bars are a bit low for my arthritic hands, however.

Like the trick front end suspension.

You can do a lot for $117K.   :o

We can charge at HD dealerships!  That's if they let us.  I guess that confirms it has level 2 charging capabilities.

Just wait until you see the LiveWire's price.  ::) As a H-D "premium" vehicle, I expect it will be priced right up there with their CVO motorcycles.  Last night, in the December issue of Rider Magazine, I read about their latest 117CI CVO full-dress bagger, which is priced at a staggering $43,900!  :o  So when it comes to pricing the LiveWire - the sky is the limit.   :'(  And that just might limit its sales numbers a bit, thereby fulfilling H-D's dealers' and enthusiasts' expectation that their customers really don't want to ride an electric motorcycle.  ;)

There is a 40-second video providing the sound of the new LiveWire in this article.  Sounds just like the noise that an Energica makes to me.  This article also has lots of adjectives describing the Wire, but few concrete facts or specifications.  The only thing that really caught my attention is that all H-D dealers will have a public Level 3 DC fast charging station at each shop.  Good luck getting their dealers out in the boondocks to pay for those  :   https://electricmotorcycles.news/harley-davidson-releases-further-details-on-2019-livewire-at-eicma-2018/

More info about the Live Wire from their website
https://www.harley-davidson.com/us/en/motorcycles/future-vehicles/livewire.html#intcmp_HP_BB1_livewire

Wow it does have level 3 charging! The CCS port is clearly visible on that website! If they can price it lower than the Energica HD might have a winner!  We'll see...

Here's something interesting from the website:
Do I need special charging equipment to own a LiveWire™ motorcycle?
No you do not…the LiveWire™ motorcycle has an on-board Level 1 charger and can be charged through most standard household outlets. It’s also fast charge capable.

Another interesting thing about that website
THE TECHNOLOGY YOU EXPECT IS ALL HERE.
Seven different riding modes let you dial in your ride. Music and GPS are controlled by a state-of-the-art touchscreen infotainment system that’s Bluetooth enabled. The EV powertrain means there is little service required.

So it's kind of a weird charging setup they have on the bike. That I suppose is ok. There is an onboard level 1 charger, REALLY SLOW. But it has DC Fastcharge capability. So if you need a charge on the road you can charge super fast at a Fast Charger.

So if your charging at home it would probably take like 10+ hours, I wouldn't even bother charging from a normal charging station it's so slow if you can't get Level 2 speeds.

We'll just have to see when it comes out. Looks exciting

But the really important question for H-D enthusiasts is: will they be offering a steel WWI German helmet with a lightning bolt on the top instead of a spike for LiveWire riders?   ;D

Either my memory is worse than I thought, or H-D has been updated their LiveWire promotional site since I looked at it this morning.  Now the "city" range is listed as 110 miles.  No mention of the "highway" range.  Not surprising.  ::)  I also note that you will be able to use an L2 charging station, only the charge rate will only be L1.  That feature does not seem terribly useful.  One person posted today that the MSRP would be 30K, but I don't know where that information came from. The site says that the bike will hit the market during the fall of this year.  Just in time for the prime riding season in the Northern Hemisphere.  ::)

Yeah it seems kind of ass backwards about the Level 1/2 charging.  I would rather have faster Level 2 charge rates than be stuck at Level 1 or have to hunt for Level 3 chargers.  Level 2 chargers are more plentiful.

Also more info on the Livewire it's going to be.... $30k! according to this website
https://techcrunch.com/2019/01/07/harley-davidson-reveals-more-about-its-push-into-electric-vehicles/

Ouch for that much I'd rather go with the Energica or even the BMW C-Evolution

I agree. Here is another article:
https://www.rideapart.com/articles/300074/harley-davidson-finally-releases-livewire/

I might add that my Zero is rated as having a "city" range of 202 miles and had an MSRP of $17K. I believe the 2019 Zero models will travel even further.
