I always said sitting on the Empulse seat felt like a piece of wood, that literally looks like a piece of 2x4 wood.
I would say more like a 2x6.
I have owned Italian motorcycles now and then since the 1960's and all seemed to have hard seats that felt like sitting on a vinyl covered wooden board. And that includes my 2009 BMW F650GS and my 2012, 2014 and 2018 Zeros, all of which felt like they sourced their seats from Italian manufacturers. Italians must be "hard asses".
