Here we are Coyote Creek Sprint Enduro 2022 at Metcalf Motorcycle in San Jose, California my home park.  I've been having problems with the powertrain on this bike the whole year.  I just installed an Electro & Company EMXRON controller kit on the bike and we're going to see if it can cut the mustard!  This race was pretty brutal this year.  I know this park very well and you'll get a lot of headshakes from me this race.

Not part of the race but this is the aftermath of the race.  You'd be crazy to think HadesOmega is going to race this bike again so soon right?  Well we race it in the Treasure Island TT 2022 check that thread out!

It was August and it was hot!  We're racing in the Hot August Pitbike Nationals against other modified Sur Ron Light Bees!  I've never got to race against other Sur Rons except in the Virginia City Grand Prix and I'm racing against pro pitbike riders O_o'  This was at Grassranch Pitbike MX in Escalon, California not to far from where I live.  This is one of the most technical mini motocross tracks I have ever ridden.

Light Bee & KLX170 vs Supermoto USA 2022 Round 1 - Desert Park Raceway, Reno, NV


It's another season of supermoto racing.  So I don't want to spoil it too much but 2022 has been a disappointing year for me and the Light Bee.  I've been having controller and motor problems all year but as I type this now in 2023 I hopefully have that fixed.  So I'm not gonna lie my other bike the Kawasaki KLX170 got more racetime this year.

So SMUSA had only 3 races this year and the first one being at Desert Park Raceway in Reno, Nevada.  It's the first time I had ridden/raced there so it was refreshing being somewhere new is what I want to say.  HERE WE GO!

DAY 0
So I arrive the day before the races and was fortunate enough to get some track time.  They are super chill and welcoming here.  I pretty much filled out a waiver form and hoped on the track.  If you live near the Reno area and would like to do kart track days get a membership with the Northern Nevada Kart Club.  They take turns between karts and motos.  Check out my first couple laps on this new track

DAY 1
Here we go day one.  Got a bit of practice the day before today we race after more practice of course!  So I wind up having a problem with the Light Bee cutting out and overheating so I wind up racing the 65GP Main with the KLX.  The races are back to back also.  So I have to go back to the pits and swap bikes.  For the main race since I raced with the same bike I just head back to the grid.  My camera battery died on the 65GP main race so I didn't get it but I wound up 4th behind 2 kx65 and a Kayo.

At the end of the day they opened up the new dirt section that had been made only recently.  So I get to try it for the first time and it's pretty tough riding with slicks in really loose dirt.

DAY 2
Here we are Day 2.  I'm only going to race one race today Adult Mini my favorite race.  Its still going to be a hot day unfortunately with temps in the 90s.  After morning practice the Light Bee is behaving itself barely.  I try and race it in the Heat race and we don't do too well.  For the Main race I decide to use the KLX170 against because I don't think the Light Bee will survive 8 laps.  I'm doing ok I'm not dead last at least and I decide to risk it and take a slightly different line in the dirt and well it goes all bad from there

Here we go Hollister Hills Wild Wabbit 2023 hare scramble race!  This was on April 15, 2023.  We raced in the C class, C5 to be more specific which is 1 hour long race.  It was a challenge as the course was 8 miles a lap and my Light Bee is known to only be able to do 20 miles of off road range, so I had to my first ever battery swap for this race.  This is also the debut dirt bike race for the KO Moto Factory Spec controller and motor combo.  Let's see how they do!
