« on: December 01, 2021, 06:02:49 PM »
Polaris has partnered with Zero and is using their electric motors and batteries in their new all-electric off-road work vehicle that they call the RANGER XP Kinetic. Here is a link to their promotional video:

current bikes: 2018 16.6 kWh Zero S, 2011 Royal Enfield Bullet 500 Classic, 2009 BMW F650GS, 2007 BMW R1200R, 2005 Triumph T-100 Bonneville, 2002 Yamaha FZ1 and a 1978 Honda Kick 'N Go Senior.

Hmm. I always wonder what, if anything, they used the drivetrain intellectual property they bought from Brammo. Maybe they didn't use much of it.

It doesn't seem as though Polaris plans on marketing an electric motorcycle any time soon - if ever.  ???

They did use it in the Ranger EV Li-Ion they used Brammo components.  They bought Brammo then just tossed all the technology out the window.  The did build the Victory Empulse TT, won the Pikes Peak Hillclimb and raced in Isle of Mann too.

I was aware of that, I was just thinking that Polaris seems to be going all-in with Zero's tech and I bet they have some sort of contract with Zero that says they will not compete with them in the consumer motorcycle market. Frankly, sticking with street trikes, off-road dirt, snow and water power sports (Indian motorcycles being a lucky exception for Polaris) is probably a smart move by the company. Those products seem to be a large enough bite for Polaris to chew on.  ;)

It would be nice to have an electric slingshot =P  I've seen a Porsche 911 with Zero motors in it so it's totally do-able.  The drivetrain would suit it well also.

Hmm I might have thought up a good project =P  If I can snag a slingshot cheap...
