Looking at the images and reading between the lines, this bike will be a commuter only bike for cities. It doesn't appear to have the gearbox, battery capacity or rapid charger of the previous bike we saw on a race track. It's not a challenger for Zero in my opinion. Hopefully the better featured bike will still come.

That is my thought, also.  I really think that Kawasaki is struggling to come up with a "zero-emission" motorcycle that they feel their customers will want and will sell enough to be profitable.  I am waiting for Yamaha to market an EV that will sell like hotcakes for the first year or two, before fading away in the U.S., as they have in the past with their SR500, their SR600, their SRX250TC, their 250-4, and other bikes that seemed like a good idea at the time and then disappeared from the U.S. market.  BTW, has anyone seen one of those 4-wheel Yamaha motorcycle models on the street lately?

Kawasaki's first two full-size electric motorcycles are getting close to being marketed in Australia. But don't expect them to worry Zero, LiveWire, or Energica too much. And if you like the looks of the 400 Ninja, you will like the looks of these models.
