Hi again - I have found some time over the past weekend and replaced the motor.

Long story short: That did the trick!!!

Well of cause the bike still refuses to charge, what this thread was mainly about, but at least now I have proper acceleration. I did not have the time at the end to do a proper test ride, but at least I rode 10kms. With the old motor that distance was already enough to let the motor temperature reach 100degC and the controller temp into thermal throttling above 70degC. I had a look at the log file - the controller temp stayed around 40degC and the motor did reach 60-65degC. Plus, the bike now reaches speeds of circa 110kmph on speedo - and I am a big man! It would probably have gone faster but the traffic did not allow that.
I have taken some pictures, this time even with an IR camera. Upload here is restricted in size and with an iPad it is possible but not too easy to reduce picture size, so if you are interested please visit this German forum only for the pictures.

I cannot really express the pride I fealt when doing the test ride! After so many tries and replacing/repairing all key components like batteries, VCU and controller it was at the end the motor - the one component that I suspected least. Well, I do have the fantasy that in fact it might even be the encoder that is somehow misaligned. The bike was engaged in an accident but the scratches indicate that it simply was dropped with no hit to anything but the ground. Maybe that was already enough. Or maybe it just happened somehow accedentally. I will probably nether know this

Hi, I've not read this thread before but I was just wondering. I have a copy of the Enertia basic manual and it states if the batteries are run down the VCU triggers a switch to protect them, this also stops the bike charging and needs to be reset. Page 193 in the manual. Is the light on the VCU red or green. If red then it can be reset.
I don't know if any of this applies to the plus version however I thought I would mention it.

Wow. That is an excellent remark! Kudos!!

I do not have a service manual for the PLUS model, but found what you mentioned in the BASIC service manual. It might very well be that this also happened on my plus model. I cannot repeat the same procedure because the PLUS does not have that tank button.

Again big thanks! I am now motivated to dive into this - with some luck my charger is still okay, it had just shut off for battery protection ::)

 :P
The VCD LED was already green, so even though I ran through the reset procedure (switch to charge, press & hold reset, plug in AC cable, wait for LED to change from red to green) I wasnt really sure when to release the button as my LED was green all the time. Tried with waiting a few secs until waiting for 30sec.

No success.

But thanks anyway!!
