System Fault b67: serious problem?
« on: March 07, 2025, 03:48:23 PM »
Hello Kollegas

after reinstalling my batteries (had them out for winter and one BMS was removed) the error appeared: "Battery tried to activate fuse".
This makes no sense to me: Why would the battery try and not just activate the fuse? Isnt an activated fuse a broken fuse?

Is this a seriouse problem? The bike is still running an charging (Front light flashes).

How would you go on with diagnose?

thanks

Hey gyver.  The forum has a glitch where it cuts off messages that don't use the straight up and down apostrophe or quotation mark.  Please try posting again.

I schould have left it with b67...

The battery diagose showed weired temperatures.
So I opened Battery 1 again and found a mistake I made with the sensor cabes which I corrected.
The temperatures were ok then, but I got all those funny errors "interlock open" and "BMS on idle mode".
After the installation I got B40 and the bike didnt charge or run. Made it worse!
So I opened battery 1 again, found the damaged diode (see picture) and replaced the BMS.
"interlock open" and "BMS on idle mode" disappeared but - have a guess - the temperatures were weired again.

Here I already learned, that each sensor is different and adjusted to its position?

Does anybody have exeriance in calibrating the temperature sensors?

An other idea would be, I try to find the sensors matching to the BMS (out of 50 I have) and to replace the ones in Battery 1, witch will be a lot of work...

What do you think?

I'm working on a complete new battery pack for my empulse R 2014
I will ditch the whole original BMS system (CMU's)
Sadly all connections run through the VCU and BMS. so we need to keep them.
Bypassing them is fairly easy by reprogramming the controller.
There will be a permanent error on your screen but the bike will run fine.
Charging need to be configured with a different charger though as the bms will not enable charging as it cannot 'find' the old battery pack modules.

I'm running a 24S setup with a DALY BMS.

Still a work in progress. when I'm finished I will make a complete documentation here on the forum about it.
