December news?
« on: November 16, 2010, 02:45:31 PM »
Just when you thought it was safe to stop guessing about the Enertia Plus, look at one of BrammoCraig's latest tweets:

@BrammoCraig: Well lets see, something big first week in december...

Anyone care to guess?

could be more info on the Plus...or even more info on the Empulse. Or info about Flex or factories or delivery dates or new partnerships (Harley, Honda...heck Kymco or Sym) or maybe about the future Brammo Scooter (though I really want Brammo to get more of the current bikes to the public before making more models that aren't for sale yet)....

Gah, too many choices.

If I had to guess, hoping of info that the Plus is coming sooner...early 2011 instead of mid 2011....

but more likely the Dec secret would be more Euro/Asia info...

Brammo is spending a month straight in Hong Kong...I imagine the December news could be about dealerships in Hong Kong / China. That would be a huge market for Brammo.

Of course the best news would be that Brammo has selected my garage as a High Altitude Winter Testing facility** and is sending a Plus and an Empulse to my house for use from Dec 2010 till summer 2011.

I would be fine with that news :)  Heck, I have a nice clean spot in the garage saved just for that.

**(this morning was the first morning below freezing since last March....and so it begins...might have to break out the winter jacket soon)

"Something big" seems to exclude an update on Enertia+ top speed or small things like branded merchandise.

I'll throw out some guesses, or maybe these are wishes:
* big motor / controller version of the Empulse 10.0 (faster acceleration, 120+ mph top end)
* 1000 preorders received for Empulse or Enertia+
* Empulse RR availability, some limited support for TTXGP privateers (cool!)
* update on wifi / gps integration (possibly a partnership of some type)

Less interesting possibilities:
* results of another round of funding
* update on Best Buy / Brammo (possibly related to above)
* firmer expected availability dates for Enertia+ or Empulse

Wildcards:
* smaller, less expensive bike reusing some portion of the Enertia 3.1 powertrain
* availability of traction control, combined braking or anti-lock brakes
* another big partnership

Couple updates from @BrammoCraig.

Okay - so for the december news, I have to come up with some new arcane hints that only the most brammo savvy might guess....

More than halfway to our Brammo Empulse pre-order give away. Holidays are a great to pre-order so we can be "Givers!"

Oh good, a guessing game :> And my guess about the Empulse preorders hitting 1k is off by a ways.

I'm guessing that the news involves an electric Brammo sleigh that will be making a worldwide tour on the evening of December 24th.

I'm not sure an electric sleigh would be appropriate for Santa's commute on the 24th, unless he's going to ride the lightning..

“@BrammoCraig: @Asphalt_Rubber  December 6th should be another great day for Brammo if everything comes together!”

So a week from now we should, hopefully, have some good news...

So the 6th is history....

Maybe today? Or some time this week?

Hoping to hear that the first 20 Brammo Enertia Plus powercycles are made and ready to ship :)

Mostly because I am number 19 ...

Yeah, not sure what happened with that.  I just saw on Twitter that Craig is headed to Sand Hill Road today.  (I learned just a few months ago what that means, so, at the risk of insulting those of you who already know -- Sand Hill Road is in Menlo Park, California, and is where the big Venture Capitalist firms are located).

Mmmmmm, so with the holidays approaching I don't expect news over the next couple of weeks....

So I assume December news will instead become January news....

Must be patient....but gah, I hate being patient.

Guys,

The December news Craig was excited about was the inclusion of Brammo in the DreamForce event in SF.  Although it wasn't clear at the time and there's been no press release yet, we'll be developing some applications in partnership with them for Enertia (and future Empulse and Enertia Plus) owners that allow for some cool processing of the data that is stored on the bike.  Sounds minor compared to the "big" announcements about new products, but I think you'll really appreciate the benefit this can have to our customers, dealers, and service organization once you see the application(s) released...

This is very much relevant to my interests as a prospective owner of an Empulse.

This is good news to me. I would find the data helpful to analyze the rides I take based on various conditions and scenarios.
