Did anyone notice what looks like a 4wheel ATV behind one of the bikes in the pictures in that article?  Curious.

In the Motorcycle-USA.com article, Craig actually hints at an ATV when talking about their new battery design:
“There may be case when different chemistries make better sense,” notes Bramscher, “The battery you want on a motocross bike that you want to be able to do back flips and last 20 minutes might be different chemistry than what you put in an ATV that’s going to pull 700 pounds in the sand.”

+1...

yep, now just waiting on specs and when each model (Empulse spring 2012, Enertia Plus this summer???, Engage/Excite???) is shipping to decide just which model I will get.

Still thinking Plus, but a dual sport could become my daily rider if they come soonest and have decent specs.

Here is a link to an interesting description and discussion by SMRE of their "Mechatronic" propulsion unit and their "Integrated Electric Transmission":

mmm, that site shows some bikes, non brammo bikes...

thought brammo had an exclusive with them?? maybe these are just demo/prototype units?

anyways...they do show what might be the smaller MMX pro, or at least what the MMX pro might be like...

Brammo does have an exclusive with them.  And yes, EVERYTHING you've seen about these bikes is at the prototype stage of development.

My guess is that they are still trying to get the angry bees out of the motor.   ;D

Figure a release date of summer 2013 or so, just by how long its taking to get the Plus and the Empulse out. Legitimatly

Mmmm, I hope not :)

Making an electric bike that can go 100 mph and 100 miles in range is kinda tough.

Making a smaller dirt bike that goes much slower and has a smaller, swappable battery...well that is actually kinda simple. People can do DYI project bikes with batteries in the garage on the weekends...now of course they are not as nice, nor as sophisticated as th Engage family of bikes....

Now the six speed shifty is the question mark. It could be a hold up if it needs lots of testing and such...but if all the initial testing was done pre agreement with Brammo...well it could go kinda fast.

I still expect to see the Plus this summer...wouldn't be surprised I'd the Engage family was out then too...but I could be horribly optimistic....EV are always delayed it seems....and too long of delays = company not making it....

Aptera rebooting the car just before the official release, well it effectively killed that car...I hope Brammo rebooting the Empulse just before the official release (summer 2011 ish) doesn't have a similar affect....I don't think it will, but it is a slight concern

Announced just the other day, practice runs today, racing tonight....Brammo ain't wasting much time...

I wonder, hint hint to Brammo, how the test runs went....do you do well against Zero and Quantas? And why no knobbies?

And which Engage version is this one?  Thanks

and which Engage....well I can answer my own question by looking at the Brammo store...

Engage MX...Dirt bike competing in MiniMotoSX

So that is the MX...I gather IF I wanted a dual sport Brammo, the SMR or SMS would be the way to do...can't wait for specs and such...not sure as I'm not a supermoto guy...what the difference is between the SMR and SMS (other than 2k :) )
