Lap 2 – 1:58.833
Lap 3 – 1:58.064

on saturday. Sunday was faster.

could be telling him he is in the 3rd lap and the last lap time was 1:58.8...

or who knows :)

and when there is a 4 on the dash it is showing the 3rd lap time...

so I will guess that the big number is reminding the rider what lap he is on and the time is showing the last lap time. the 45 in one photo and 47 in the next is likely speed (slowing in a corner)

the 74 and then 72 on the top could also be speed...but I think it is charge? though losing only 2% in charge over a lap is not likely...so ??

the Runla is confusing...

I was thinking that RUNLA could be something like "RUN" = this motorcycle is in "RUN" mode, and the L ... not sure, and the "A" could be profile A, i.e. when Brian said on twitter that they ran the race at 85% power, maybe that is profile "A" ... or something.

You got it mostly figured out.  The GPS timing is accurate within about 50ft of the start/finish, so the time displayed for the previous lap is +/- .2s.  This photo was obviously either from one of the practices or maybe the first race based on the time displayed there. The 47 is the speed and you can see the motor rev counter above it.  The 72 is just indicating the minutes of data acquisition logging still available before the internal memory runs out.  This system has been instrumental (ha!) in understanding the effects of changes to the system and ultimately bike performance.

RUNLA = Run lap timer.  There are various display modes.  Best sector time, Best lap time, Last Lap Time, etc, etc... . If there were a problem with the motor or battery, you would see a warning displayed here instead.

Never in a million years would've guessed I would one day be compared to Don King... ;)

And here I was thinking that the "3" and the "4" represented what gear he was in.   ;)

 :D :D :D I have to say that after this performance, maybe I don't really need an IET unless it gets me 300 mi range at 70mph,5hr charge time@110v so I can tour all day long.......... :o 8)

That would be awesome, but to quote a hero of mine:

I don't expect the IET to do much for range except add a 2%-7%, provided you're riding at the most efficient motor speed.
It may allow for a less powerful (and thus lighter) motor, which could help.
It will probably allow for better acceleration.

Of course, if we can replace the Lithium Ion battery pack with dilithium crystals... anything is possible. ;D

Keep in mind:
* IET will add weight (hurting range slightly)
* IET will add cost
* IET will add complexity

I'm haven't seen specifications to indicate that an IET improves performance more than equal weight of more powerful motor or more batteries. Typically the batteries, at least, are somewhat fixed in configuration anyhow. But we know the choice Brammo has made (at least for the Engage/Encite, and likely the Empulse) and they HAVE seen those specifications.

I guess I would love to see the final specs that lead to Brammo going shifty on the Engage and Encite...but a shifty on those seem to make the most sense ride-wise...

why the delay on the Empulse for it is more a question...the benefit would have to be huge....I still think having a non shifty now and adding the shifty next year would be best for the Empulse, but what do I know :)

Added cost is never good

Added complexity is not good....

So there MUST be some hella good upside for Brammo to add cost and complexity AND add a delay of up to a year.

I'm fine with a shifty or a auto...it would be nice if Brammo offered both...after all Brammo wanted new riders and non traditional motorcycle riders along with more traditional riders

mostly I guess I just want to see specs and release dates....but then I imagine every single person on this site wants that too...every married person also :)

Well maybe some Psyhcotropic Lithium would make it SEEM faster and longer. :P
Hey! SSSSHH about the married stuff,she still doesn't know yet! :-X INfinion green livery RR on my 26" monitor,bike mags floating all over the house. I'm tellin' ya,ya gotta get them to think the bike was THEIR idea to begin with. Kinda like fishing,right? ;)
