Zero ad in Cycle World magazine
« on: June 06, 2011, 08:05:49 PM »
I have to give Zero credit. They started out slow, but are really putting out some money to both improve their product as well as to bring it into the mainstream motorcycle press. The July issue of Cycle World has a full-page ad for the Zero models on page 79 in the issue's "Special Advertizing Section".

The ad is titled "Take Charge". It shows a rider on a Zero S overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge. All of Zero's 5 models are shown below this photo and under that the ad says: "The Next Step in Motorcycle Evolution", followed by a paragraph describing the fun and advantages of owning a Zero. At the bottom of the page there is a line saying: "Shift Free / Oil Free / Gas Free / Exhaust Free / Noise Free", followed by their logo and URL. Very nicely done, in my opinion. I hope it generates some positive results for Zero.

Now, what will Brammo do to keep up with or to move past Zero? They don't want to get behind the EV ball. The EV business is starting to heat up. If the races at the IOM work out as we all hope, motorcycle enthusiasts are going to want to ride on the road what they see on the track and in the news. Lets get moving.   ;D

I just found another Zero ad. This is a half-page on page 11 of the June issue of Friction Zone magazine. It is titled "The Next Step in Motorcycle Evolution" and says: "Instant acceleration, lightweight, fun and fully electric. Discover the experience of riding and owning an electric motorcycle."

What I found particularly interesting is that Zero lists a number of dealers that are currently selling their 2011 models - which they proclaim are "in stock". Here are the dealers: Mission Motorcycles, Daly City, CA (my closest motorcycle dealer and where I bought my Yamaha FZ1); Escondido Cycle Center, Escondido, CA; Santa Barbara Motorsports, Goleta, CA; Hollywood Electrics, West Hollywood, CA; Norcal Mastercraft Pleasanton, Pleasanton, CA; Moore & Sons Motorcycles, Santa Cruz, CA; Airhead Sales and Service, LLC, Klamath Falls, OR; Responsible Living, Salem, OR; and MC Electric Vehicles, Seattle, WA.

Brammo had better start signing up dealers quick, before Zero picks the cream of the crop. I don't know how many dealers are going to want to sell two electric motorcycles, along with their other products, this early in the EV motorcycle game. You will also note that a couple of these dealers hit a little close to (Brammo's) home.
