Helmo helmet lock - Would this work on an Enertia?
« on: April 15, 2010, 01:10:36 PM »
I just saw this story about a new kind of helmet lock and wondered if it would work with the handlebar setup on the Enertia.  Pics:

There was a long thread over on the "other" electric motorcycle forum about a guy who added a helmet lock to his Enertia's chain guard.  Lots of drilling, grinding bolts to make them shorter, etc.  I'm not that handy, so I saw this as a possible solution.

That would definitely work, but what keeps somebody from just pulling out the bar end?  ???

It looks like you install it by tightening it with a wrench, which expands the rubber anchor.  Basically, sure, someone could come along with a wrench an loosen it.  Or, just cut your strap with a knife.  Isn't the basic idea to make a thief think twice, and to send him on his way, looking for an easier goal?

I don't think I'd use this for my future Enertia because one of my favorite mods is the bar-end mirror.

Hey Judy... this is a bar-end mirror:

This is from Constructors Racing Group, which, I believe, is the type that Brian uses on his bike.

No helmet lock on the Enertia?

Will the Enertia+ have a helmet lock?

Will the Empulse have a helmet lock?
