Ugh! That sux out loud. Very glad no one was hurt. Sounds like piling batts and electrical equipment together caused a thermal event from conduction. Accidently did that to myself when I was younger with a set of keys and a 9v transistor batt in my pants pocket. Guess the batt wasn't dead after all.:(
At least the weather is nice to accomadate the renewal.

Glad noone was hurt. It's easy to replace the damaged furniture and parts..

Underscores the need to be careful with the batteries. Lots of energy that can be discharged rapidly. Ultracaps even more so .. can be better or worse depending on perspective : P

Thank god for the thick smoke, apparently that prevented the fire from spreading...
That headline sure got my attention, first thing in the morn. I'm glad like everyone else here, no one was hurt. What exactly does the guy do for Brammo anyway?

A case of not believing everything you read in the press I am afraid to say.
Ely Schless is a fabricator that Brammo occasionally uses to machine one off parts for prototypes.
He’s is not and never has been a designer or engineer for Brammo.
Ely does however build his own batteries for the electric motorcycle he races in the TTXGP 75 class.

Ely is good friend of Brammo indeed some Brammo staff gave up their weekend to help him clean up his shop and we will probably help him get his bike to Miller for the TTXGP final on Labor day weekend.

Both Dealer News and The Ashland Daily Tidings will be publishing corrections to their stories.
