BrammoParx!

Brammo Drives European and Off-Road Growth with the Acquisition of KOM Enterprise GmbH’s Quantyaparx™ System and the Formation of BrammoParx™
ASHLAND, Ore. & BURGKIRCHEN, Germany -- Brammo, Inc., a global leader in the electric motorcycle business, today announced the acquisition of Quantyaparx™ from the founder and worldwide licensor, KOM Enterprise GmbH.
Quantyaparx™ are hire and ride activity centers designed exclusively for electric dirt bikes. Already successfully established in Germany, Austria, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom, the centers offer an affordable and exciting off-road motorcycling experience free from air and noise pollution.
Hans Eder and his team are the driving force behind this innovative and flourishing enterprise and they will all be joining Brammo. The hire and ride centers will be renamed: BrammoParx.

Craig Bramscher, founder and CEO of Brammo, said, “We are excited about this acquisition and we will be introducing our latest 6-speed off-road Brammo motorcycles - the Engage and the Encite - to BrammoParx locations at the earliest opportunity. We will also be making the BrammoParx franchise opportunity available in other countries, including the USA.” Bramscher continued, “We know the demand for off-road parks is growing and KOM has both a unique business model and a highly successful track record in this market.”
Hans Eder said, "With our existing centers we have proven that environmentally-friendly off-road fun is possible. With the correct instruction and supervision, even someone who doesn’t own a motorcycle will be able to ride at BrammoParx - from children to adults.” Hans continued, “Brammo ownership will give our existing and new BrammoParx operators access to the Brammo Engage and Encite, the most advanced off-road electric motorcycles in the world.”
Bramscher added, “We are pleased to welcome KOM staff to Brammo. They bring unrivalled expertise in an area that we know has strong growth potential in the years ahead. We are very much looking forward to working together and growing the BrammoParx business.”

Wow Brammo, nice purchase! This one is a head scratcher for sure... cross out Quantya, write in Brammo.

I anticipate the parx business model to do well over time.

Ha... I almost did, but then decided not to.  I am, however, interested in riding at one of these places.  I like how the shots of the bike in mid-air always seem to have some electrical lines in the background.

Wow, we finally have some kind of date.

www.brammoparx.com has a big clock that is counting down to November 8th 2011. By then they are supposed to open the park, presumably with a few Brammo bikes to run on the track.

I wonder:
  • How many Engage and/or Encite bikes Brammo has built.
  • How many they can build before November.
  • How this will affect production of the bike that I really want to own - the Empulse.

I have to say, if I see a mass of dirt bikes rolling out of the Brammo factories and no Empulse, I'm going to get rather depressed. Either way, hopefully something will happen by November.

The parks, run by independent operators under Brammo licensing and supervision, eventually will be equipped with 10 Engage and 10 Encite bikes shipped beginning in early 2012, although there are already a few on location.

I wonder if Plus production is delayed so they can focus on getting Engage and Encite bikes out to the current, and future, parxs

I agree with Freepz. Less than an year ago I had not even heard of the dirt bikes; now they seem to be ready to go while mine is nowhere to be found.

So much for pre-ordering! Now BrammoParx are getting new Brammos before we do? Uncool!

Oh, I now understand what the date on the BrammoParx website represents.

BrammoParx Will Be Officially Unveiled at EICMA 2011

They are simply going to be "unveiled" at EICMA, which probably means that they are going to show some details about the Parx. Who knows when they will actually open and what bikes they will have. Brammo does have this promotional photograph, but that is probably a prototype.

I agree that the Parx will be getting Encites and Engages...No pluses.

Getting the bikes to the Parxs is a good business decision...bikes seen and bike ridden will = sales in Europe...and Europe will be a big buyer of electric bikes compared to the States...especially early on (America will catch on a bit slower)

and really the Parxs, at first, only need a few bikes each...so around a hundred bikes...that would only be a weeks worth of bikes coming out of Hungary...if Hungary is currently making any Encites and Engages...I don't really know what Hungary is doing at this moment...

Either way, bikes for the Parxs won't be a delay for Pluses and bikes for the Parxs is a good business decision for Brammo...

A hundred (or two or three?) Pluses and Plus LE going to Hong Kong also isn't a major reason for Plus delays...again, Hungary can make that in a couple of weeks...

The delay on the Pluses is likely due to 2 reasons:

Polaris deal...I assume they want all bikes delivered through their dealerships...this causes a delay in that staff needs training, floorspace arranged, paperwork done up, parts and service worked out...etc etc

NEW BATTERY TECH: as soon as I heard that the Plus was getting a new battery I was pretty sure there would be a delay in delivery...Believe you me, I WANT my Plus ASAP...like last Sept :)...but I also know about new electric vehicle start ups...and they are always a bit slower than expected...and ANY major component change is usually a mild to moderate delay...Battery change is a biggie...That HAS to be done RIGHT (or huge expense and BAD press down the road).

So getting bikes to Hong Kong...GOOD....Getting bikes to Parx...GOOD...me being delayed my ride...bad, but A) understandable  B) likely unavoidable...

For Brammo it is better to get bikes to Hong Kong and Parx...and ultimately Brammo's success helps me too...and I still don't think HK or Parx is the delay...Polaris and Battery change are more likely the delay and both those things are important for Brammo's future...

Now if I don't have my Plus for Spring riding season...well then I might rethink my zen-like calmness :)
