I'm really excited to hear more about the 2012 specs for the Empulse.  I know the 6spd will be kewl but what really has me wondering, is the alleged performance. Steve wrote that it should be double the power for the 2012 specs. I really hope Brammo comes through with that. It would make waiting for the bike much more tolerable.

Considering that the are having a hard enough time producing the final version of the Entertia Plus, to say nothing of the Empulse, I don't know how many of the features of the 2012 Empulse RR are going to show up in the production Empulse.

I would love to see the latest awsome technology on the production Empulse, but even more awesome would be to have some kind of Empulse in my hands. I would have been delighted to buy the Empulse with the originally promised 100 mph / 100 mile range Empulse rather than a promise of some fabulous technology some indeterminate time in the future.

To be fair, I am confident that the bike that I finally do get will be fantastic, and a lot better than the one on that famous promotion video they released in July 2010, but man, it's been a long, long wait, and it's not over yet.

Keep in mind that the current Empulse RR is based on the (proposed) Empulse street bike, but has a different battery setup and motor. (and likely brakes, suspension, grips, bodywork, motor controller, dash display..)

The 2012 Empulse RR will have a bigger motor in order to compete with MotoCzysz and Lightning, both of which make about twice the current Empulse RR's power. With the shift towards shorter races for the 2011 season, the bikes can now make better use of more power with battery packs that have grown only slightly.

I don't expect Brammo to announce a motor change for the Empulse street bike (which uses the Perm 156W, same motor as in the Enertia TTR race bike btw, where the Parker motor in the RR makes about twice the power already).

It would be cool to see an Empulse race replica bike with the big motor, as a halo bike. Productizing the race motor will take time, money, and focus away from the development team though; so I hope they stay focused on getting the street bikes out ASAP.

Agreed! I think they can keep play around with the RR after they make the street model available. It would be much more fun to follow Atlas's stories if I knew I could play with MY Empulse anytime I wanted...
