The Volta BCN
« on: October 30, 2011, 12:40:59 PM »
The BCN will offer a 35hp engine and a range of 70km thanks to a Lithium Polymer battery that recharges in two hours on 220V... And for a price estimated at € 7000!

That's a nice looking bike, and very thoughful to have storage for helmets, although I think that feature is already very common in Barcelona. I was there last year, and the alternative to having the helmet in a compartment was to have it chained to the handlebars. I didn't see too many people walking around with their helmets.

I have to say, I'm a little bit envious of the higher voltage that they have in Europe. I would like to half my charge time too!

Is there any advantage at all to being at 110v rather than 220v? I heard from someone that it was safer, with less risk of death by electrocution, but given the safety fuses that are in every home, I wonder how much difference that really makes. I.e. are there more deaths by electrocution in countries with higher voltage?

Nice bike...if made soon it will give the Enertia a run for the money in Europe....Nice looks, Seating for 2! and 75 mph...the range is only Enertia range, not Enertia Plus range...

But Brammo should be (and I'm sure IS) working on Enertia 3.0...or what I call Enertia Plus 2....

Similar to the Volta BCN in that it will be a 2 seater with top speed over 70 and, by 2013, a range over 100 miles...

Heck I don't even have my Plus yet and still I would upgrade in 2013 if Brammo came out with that...

That bike would really put a dent in Zero sales, considering its looks, performance and projected price. However, there is this little matter of setting up a distribution and dealer organization in the U.S. That could take a few years.
current bikes: 2018 16.6 kWh Zero S, 2011 Royal Enfield Bullet 500 Classic, 2009 BMW F650GS, 2007 BMW R1200R, 2005 Triumph T-100 Bonneville, 2002 Yamaha FZ1 and a 1978 Honda Kick 'N Go Senior.

More details found: http://www.voltamotorbikes.com/

2 seater
Belt transmission
Led front light
Via optional CONECTA Pack, power setting limits and eco mode driving...

Price in Europe: 7000€ (Enertia 8792€, Enertia+ 9895€)

If they fill that trunk with extra batterys could they match the range of the Enertia+ ?
