Here are the break in period instructions from the Empulse R Owner's Manual - Rev 02.
Break in Period
- For odometer reading of 0 - 600 miles, use normal mode only.
- For odometer reading of 0 - 150 miles, ride at no more than 3500rpm.
- For odometer reading of 150 - 600 miles, ride at no more than 5000rpm.
- At odometer reading of 600 miles, change oil.
After Break in Period
- Every 3000 miles, perform an oil change and inspect clutch plates and springs. Replace components if required.
- Oil volume: Use oil fill hole for correct level.
- Oil type: Synthetic 10W-30 API GL-1 Motorcycle oil, (wet clutch approved).
- Clutch plate friction material type: Organic, please use SMRE original parts.
