This weekend on a whim I decided to see how the Empulse fared going up Mount Diablo -- for those not in the bay area, it is apparently about 3800 ft or so.  Got to the base with roughly 66% charge, and made it to the top with about 49% left.

While at the summit I encountered a nice couple who apparently had the same idea in their Tesla S, a few other curious motorcyclists, and of course the throngs of passersby asking questions about the bike.  Made it down the mountain nearly net neutral; I believe I was at about 45% when I left the park.

Aaaaaand now I see what everybody means about the magic of electric motorcycling through nature!  Great park, great bike, awesome ride.  Anyone in the area should probably go do it if they haven't.  (note: costs $10 admission to the park)  Also if you are hurting for charge after the trip, Walnut Creek is nearby and seems to have Blink chargers installed in most of their public parking structures.
