Ok....just realized I don't know how to make a poll...but if I did...

Should Brammo make a commercial version of the RR?

Would you be interested in buying an RR?

See this thread for some background:

Ps...if somebody can make this a poll..thanks. :)

Let's say they decide to make a production RR.  Picking up the RR means that Brammo has to not do something else.  I think the question becomes "What should Brammo not spend time on so that they can make the RR?".

Great question skuzzle.

Brammo's engineers must be hard at work on something. The 2014 Empulse changes, while non-trivial, don't really feel like they engaged all of Brammo's engineering efforts.

So things in the skunkworks:

1. Brammo has pretty much removed the dirt bikes from their site. Perhaps they could revisit these? The prototypes Brammo was showing appeared to be nearly identical to the SMRE prototype dirt bikes, I get the feeling at the time that they were not a huge priority.

2. Turn BrammoParx into an animatrionic amusement park, complete with wheelie machines and dinosaurs. (A happy dinosaur is a dinosaur that doesn't have to get turned into oil, little Timmy!)

3. Build a damn touring bike.

I vote for #3!

It is a mystery to me why there seems to be no interest in marketing electric dirt motorcycles.  You would think that a quiet off-road motorcycle would be perfect for use near urban areas.  But Brammo seems to have dropped that idea and Zero only has their DS and FX models (that can do OK on off road trails, but are not something that you would want to race on), while dumping the off-road "motocross" bikes this year.   ???

I've been bugging Brammo for option 3 too.

We have a BMW K1200rs in our parking structure...it could hold a ton of batteries in that big fairing

+1 option 3

Actually I would would like an electric version of the Vstrom!  Great range; storage; plenty of suspension; can handle some dirt.  I live on a dirt/gravel road.  That 1/4 mile of dirt is clogging my Empulse's radiator and the charge controller fins!

I'd be down with a RR. Waiting to see how Mission does with their R.

I was seriously considering the Mission before I got the Empulse R. If the Mission turns out to be selling well, hopefully Brammo will produce a commercial version RR to compete.

I have an R1200RT in my garage that could also hold a ton of batteries.

And since I don't ride it very often these days, I wouldn't be inconvenienced if someone kidnapped it for a prototype conversion with, say, 14 or so BPMs and an RR motor, for instance...

Um, hint, hint... ;)

I would buy an RR in a second as long as they kept it in the low 20's.

BTW, I think Brammo is working on a car, arent they? That was the rumor I heard a few months ago.

I would too for low 20's...but that might be hard to get too...maybe a version without a fairing? Or just the economy of scale in action?

Mostly I want that high voltage motor....and 12 plus kWh of batteries :)

Gavin

truthfully...a good looking touring model with the RR specs is what I want :)

Maybe I didn't jump the gun....

From Brammos newsletter: .  If Wes' article is any indication, our customers are in for a fun ride as we begin the effort to commercialize what we've learned!

Maybe not exactly saying the RR will be sold to customers...but close
