Chain kit replacement (final drive)

I went and gone ahead to order parts for a new set off front and rear sprockets and a new chain.

Front sprocket: JTF1314
Rear sprocket: Supersprox 43T  (this is bigger than the original 38T)
Chain: D.I.D 525 VX3 gold.

(I will update this post with pictures of the materials and progress. Maybe even a video!)

I look forward to your update....  I have read that the proper front sprocket is hard to come by and difficult to replace for some reason....

I found the front hard to come by but don't remember any particular difficulty in replacing.

I think you'll be pleased with the larger rear: makes 6th gear a lot more useful.

I went with a 41T rear and I think with the 43T, you will find power wheelies easily available.

I made some videos from when I did my front sprocket swap it wasn't too difficult, but you need to take the kickstand assembly off.  Easy mod to do as you don't need to change chain length.  Would like to change the rear sprocket also when it's time to do the chain would like to max out gearing at Laguna Seca straight =P  Probably won't really use 1st much anymore!

I only removed the cover over the front sprocket and took off the chain (which I split because I was replacing that too).
So in total I only removed 2 bolts and the circlip holding the front sprocket  to get it replaced :)

Did my first drive of the year with the Empulse.

That new chain kit is quiet!!!

I can only hear the motor/gearbox whining.

Need to pull the clutch and close the throtle to hear the chain softly wirring.
So happy!

but a 43T rear sprocket is a bit to much. rofl

Wheelies are over rated anyway....  Just destroy your drive train....  I'm more interested in smooth precision in corners....

That is good to know when I replace my chain =)  The chain isn't in the way so the sprocket will just slip off. 

I'm running 13/38 right now and it's great.  It would be similar to a 14/41. 

At Formula Lightning Richard Illman's Empulse was running 14/53!  With that much torque I'd imagine you'd go through 1st pretty fast might as well not use it.  I'd imagine at some point you'll be wasting time shifting all the time.

What was the part number for the rear sprocket?  I'm having the hardest time finding a sprocket that has the 5 lug pattern used on our bike.
