Not too sure where you're coming from with that , but I would expect the Empulse to have a much better range on pavement. 60/80/100 mile range on the Empulse. Encite will probably be set up with around 30 mile range to keep weight from the battery and motor down for dirt track purposes. It will, of course, depend on how hard you ride, too.
I mean the ENGAGE SMS (street). I think this because it should be much lighter than the Empulse, and should carry as many batteries.
WTH, the price is 12000. That's the same as the Empulse 12.0??
$12k is the same price as the Empulse 8.0.
The federal 10% rebate applies only to
street bikes of at least 2.5 kwh, so really you're looking at $10,000 for the Engage SMR vs $10,800 post-rebate for the Engage SMS.
Autoblog states that the Engage MX and SMR will have removable batteries of at least 2.6 kwh, and that the Engage SMS may have a fixed battery. Brammo
may be deciding whether to produce the SMS with a larger battery pack or not.
I wouldn't expect the Engage to be much more efficient than the Enertia/Empulse, as the higher rolling-resistance dual-sport tires will compensate for the lower weight of the bike. I suspect the SMRE transmission is slightly less efficient than the direct drive as well.
