Do you have J1772 points there. FrankH? Or the Mennekes points? For the latter (and a J1772-capable EV) you just use a J1772 to Mennekes cable?

They are all Mennekes over here. And unlike in the US, they all have sockets only so you must bring your own cable.
So in order to charge the Empulse you would always need to take the charge cable with those two bulky connectors with you. The side bags are a must here...
Once you go EV, gas is history!

The public charging situation here is somewhat the opposite from what you describe: they removed all charging points for e-scooters that had standard plugs

Check out the site of "de gezonde stad". Scooter charging is coming back (16 points in Amsterdam now) www.gezondestad.org
Also there are plenty of e-bicycle charge points that can be used. The site www.oplaadpunten.nl can help you find them.
I use those and has never been an issue (except sometimes you need to park off road)
