I'm an Empulse owner, so I don't what your switch looks like. But in general, if you can take the switch apart, I would, blow it out with compressed air and spray some contact cleaner (ProGold is one brand) in it, reassemble, and install.
OTOH, If the switch isn't too expensive and is available from after-market sources, replacing it might be the best way to go.
How's that for a firmly ambivalent answer?
