Brembo Master Cylinder Recall
« on: January 03, 2018, 03:54:52 PM »
On another forum, I just read that Brembo master cylinder PR16 has been recalled. Seems like the piston is made of plastic and can crack, leading to total loss of front braking power. Not good.

Does anyone know if this affects Empulses?

If it does affect Empulses or Enertias, I bet we'll get notices from Polaris or maybe Brammo. (Probably Polaris).

I have seen that recall also.  So far it affects some Italian brands, but who knows how far it will spread?  Perhaps it is limited to just a few years of production?  However, I do notice that the failure appears to result after very hard usage, so perhaps that will not be a practical consideration for the Empulse.  ???

I was worried also but they one that is affected looks like this an ours looks more like a traditional master cylinder.  I think Aprilias use these.
